Ann Hampton Callaway and Liza Minnelli singing Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler's 1933 song, 'Stormy Weather'. This clip is from Ann's Singer's Spotlight TV Show pilot. For more information about Ann Hampton Callaway, visit www.annhamptoncallaway.com.
lots of impolite and rude remarks for such a great video
@calamtykel I was not referring to the person who first sang the song publically but rather to the person who popularized and “owned” the song for her entire career. So fuck you asshole.
@calamtykel no shit Sherlock. I was not referring to the first to sing it but rather to the person who popularized and “owned” the song! Fuck you!
@markbob120 Actually, it was Ethel Waters.
YOU clearly no nothing, grow up and get a life, liz sounds like a broken record, and ann callaway sounds amazing, Liza’s is past her best by about 10-15 years there shes on smack althouh when she was younger she was the muts nuts not no more though
@Dameednafla
I agree with you but lets give Harold Arlen the credit for the song…
Storny weather was Lena Horne not Judy Garlard you fucking idiot!
Steven Lasher.. You are the utter definition of DOUCHE. Ann is a champion of singers and the great American songbook. It takes a talent and passion like Ann’s to get someone of Liza’s caliber to come out to participate in these shows. It takes even greater skill to talk Liza into actually doing one of her mother’s songs.
What a rare opportunity for LIZA to sing “Stormy Weather”, but this other bitch had to ruin it and take away from LIZA singing one of her mother’s best songs.
Wow! This is amazing! Liza looks and sounds better than she has in a LONG time! She’s not driving her voice nearly as hard as in her younger days, and she blends so well with Ann. Two amazing voices! Thanks for posting.
Ann’s fairly tall…and as she says…she’s “worth the climb” LOL!
Just listened to Ann do “Time after time” on Sat Radio… had to look her up, found this and it tickeled my ears too! thanks
so great liza we love you
ann hampton callaway is in great voice as always, covering for Liza’s many unachieved notes and even distracting from minelli’s Kabuki make-up
there are two N in Minnelli
great clip, love them both ..
What a strange beautiful couple these two ladies! It’s great, thanks for posting it. Lize reminds me her mother Judy when she was in duets, look how they seems so similar in singing and in performing.
It’s a deep commotion for who loves them both. And i do it.
The voice of Ann reminds me a lot Lena Horne“s voice
Brilliant!
I know Liza isn’t real tall, but holy toledo, either she’s wearing no heels at all and Ms. Calloway’s in 6 inch heels; or Ms. Callaway is mighty tall in her own right.
Please, when did this performance take place? Looking at Liza, it seems recent.
i love this- thanks so much for posting it!!!!!!!!!!!!
